Timothy J. Mahoney first joined the Army Air Corp in 1946 and was at Lackland AFB for 6 months
in airplane engine mechanics school. The war ended and he was sent home. During the Korean Conflict
Tim reinlisted on 1-8-51 and was sent to Cook School at Fort Devins, Ma. He then was sent to
Bentwaters in June 1951 and assigned to armament. In December 1951 he was sent to the Grove
and assigned to the 7519th Air Police where he found a home until returning to the USA and
being discharged July 10, 1954. When at the Grove he had purchased a tiger's head at an auction and put sun glasses on it and had a cigarette hanging from
his mouth and hung it in the hut just above his hut door. He was "The Keeper of the Cool Cat".
He has always wanted to know what happened to
The Cool Cat in the later years after he rotated back to the states. Tim hung out in Great Yarmouth mostly
and was in London Mafia. He came back to the states and worked
for Hammermill Paper Co. until he retired in 1995. He was married once with no children and re married to Jan and they live
in Erie, PA. He and Jan have one son and one grandson. He is still a Cool Cat. Tim works out all the time and has an envious body for any of us old coggers.
